I love being a perioperative Clinical Nurse Specialist! I support Perioperative Registered Nurses in the delivery of evidence-based practice. This ensures that every patient, every time receives the best care possible.
I am Proud to be an RN!! Love my professional practice!!
I was deployed to the VA in NOLA last year. My son is deaf and stayed with his dad. He had to go to an appointment and didn’t want to wear his mask. We FaceTimed so he could see me and all my coworkers wearing a mask. He now reminds everyone to put on a mask.
I’ve been a nurse for 41 years and an NP for 35 years. Nursing is my life and I could not have been happier with my career as a Substance Abuse treatment Nurse Practitioner, an Assistant Professor, a Clinical Instructor, a College Health Nurse Practitioner and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner. I am now taking all those experiences to progress into Cannabis Nurse Consulting to assist palliative and pain patients in reducing symptoms experienced.
This photo is of me at work. My job is what I am most proud of in my career. Where else do we get to have an impact upon those who are making the difference. We get the opportunity to support, educate, create, share, build, among many skills and talents. We have a direct impact upon how the patients are cared for and the expertise of those caring for them. How proud am I to see those nurses perform without a thought during COVID. We were right beside them helping, educating, and supporting them in their moment of need. Educators are often overlooked because we do not bring in revenue, but without which skills and knowledge cannot be cultivated.
The work we do in nursing homes is like taking care of our own families. When patients come to the nursing home it’s usually the final stop for a life well lived.
Every day, nurses experience extraordinary stress and other impacts on their mental health and wellness.
The Well-Being Initiative offers free tools and apps to support your mental health and resilience.
